Overview

The Maldives Aggressor is the definitive classic dive safari — a no-nonsense, dive-led liveaboard for travellers from India who measure a great trip in tanks emptied rather than spa hours. Part of the globally respected Aggressor fleet, the 11-cabin ship is built around diving: an experienced cruise director, up to four dives a day including night dives, a dedicated dive dhoni tender, free nitrox for certified divers, a dive deck with individual stations, and a camera table with charging and rinse tanks. The standard seven-night route works the Central Atolls — North and South Malé, Ari and Vaavu — covering Maaya Thila, Fish Head, Manta Point at Lankan, Banana Reef, HP Reef, Fotteyo and Miyaru Kandus, and the legendary Alimatha nurse-shark night dive. On selected departures the Aggressor runs deeper south to remote Huvadhoo for advanced divers chasing big pelagics. Expect grey reef, whitetip and nurse sharks, mantas, schooling fish, turtles and napoleon wrasse. Air-conditioned ensuite cabins, a comfortable saloon and full-board dining keep the surface time easy. Indian dietary requests (vegetarian, Jain, no-pork) are accommodated with advance notice. Departing the Velana International Airport jetty in Malé with transfer included, this is the boat we point dive clubs and serious divers toward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Up to four dives a day on full diving days, including a night dive such as Alimatha or Maaya Thila. The schedule is dive-led, so expect early-morning briefings and a packed dive log by week's end.
PADI Advanced Open Water with around 30+ logged dives is strongly recommended, as the marquee sites are channel and current dives. Open Water divers can join but may sit out the strongest currents. Far-south Huvadhoo departures are for experienced divers only.
Yes — full vegetarian and Jain menus are prepared on request with at least 72 hours' notice, alongside the international buffet.
Yes, free nitrox is included for divers holding an Enriched Air (Nitrox) certification. Non-certified divers can complete the course on board for a small fee, or dive on air at no extra cost.
The Central-Atoll route is largely sheltered with short crossings, so motion is usually gentle. The far-south Huvadhoo expeditions involve longer open-water passages and are less suited to those who suffer badly from seasickness.
