Overview

The Maldives Day Snorkel Cruise is the ideal trip for Indian travellers with limited time, or anyone who wants the Maldives' famous underwater life without committing to a week-long liveaboard. In a single relaxed day you visit three of the best snorkel sites in the North and South Malé Atolls — typically a coral garden teeming with reef fish, a turtle reef, and a manta or reef-shark cleaning station in season — with a friendly guide in the water to point everything out. The boat is a comfortable shared snorkel vessel or traditional dhoni with a sun shade, freshwater rinse and a small deck for relaxing between swims. A set Maldivian lunch and water are served on board, and most trips include a stop at a pristine sandbank for swimming and photos. This is not a dive trip — no certification or experience is needed, masks, fins and snorkels are provided, and the guides happily help first-timers and children. It departs Malé/Hulhumalé in the morning and returns by mid-afternoon. For travellers who want a deeper underwater experience, we recommend one of our liveaboard safaris — but for a single brilliant day in the water, this is the right choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Basic swimming confidence helps, but you do not need experience. Buoyancy vests and life jackets are provided, the guide stays in the water with the group, and first-timers and children are welcomed and supported. No diving certification is required — this is a snorkel-only trip.
Sightings are wild and never guaranteed, but the Malé Atoll sites are chosen for their reliable marine life. Turtles and reef fish are very common; manta and reef-shark sightings are excellent in season (May–November plankton blooms). For whale sharks, a South Ari trip is best — ask us.
Yes. Child-size life jackets and snorkel gear are available, the boat has shaded seating, and the guide tailors the snorkelling to the group. Non-swimmers can stay in a buoyancy vest near the guide or relax on the sandbank.
The set Maldivian lunch usually includes vegetarian dishes. If you need a strictly vegetarian or Jain meal, tell us at booking and we will request it from the operator.
